IN IT
IN IT is about finding myself as both a graphic designer and a person. For a long time I just did things without questioning the meanings behind why I do things that I do. As a graphic designer for six years and a soccer player for seventeen, I thought I just did them because they are fun. I’ve finally found why they are fun for me. They both make me lose the feeling of time and as I engage in these activities they make the stress and pressures of life disappear. To capture the essence of design and soccer that motivate me, the act of kicking a soccer ball became a device for form-making of my design. Thirty-two shapes, twenty hexagons and twelve pentagons inspired by a professional size five soccer ball are the results of paint on the ball and my kicking of it at the shapes. Two variations of colors, green and brown represent the color of the game on the field. Other objects such as soccer netting, socks, and laces are added textural elements to support the visual language of soccer while adding unexpected discoveries. (dimensions 15ft x 8ft)
